Fvckrender combines a surreal, symbol-laden mode of autobiography and a fascination with the behaviour of light to create hyperreal digital artworks. 

 documents, in abstract, the artist tackling a personal crisis with methodical perseverance. A trio of outstretched hands impart a soothing influence on the face they reach towards.

 presents a hypothesis: In the web3 age a work of art can encompass not only the original object or image presented by its creator, but its resultant culture and life in the world – accumulated as additions to the work itself on the blockchain.

The 177 Tombs are both works in themselves, and databases of future work. Archives of their own subcultures curated by their owners and viewers. For each individual Tomb, this function is made possible by an unprecedented mechanic – 

 Tombs continue Rudnick’s visual and conceptual explorations of opacity, darkness, surveillance and visibility – reflecting the myriad ways that languages of all kinds survive and propagate in digital and physical realms. Each Tomb is drawn by hand to resemble an optical storage device, the MiniDisc, a not-too-distant apex of consumer storage tech now rendered obsolete by more efficient physical and on-chain formats.

In a world where information lives increasingly on decentralised Web3 ledgers, Rudnick’s Tombs are an on-chain memento mori. They nod to the past and present of data – its storage, its movement – and, thanks to their own radical mechanics, begin to manifest its future.
