Perfect All Alone Ironic (Blue)

In Perfect All Alone Ironic, Tomokazu Matsuyama captures a moment of serenity and contemplation as a day draws to a close – layered, as ever, with his distinctive take on cultural eclecticism.

A variety of motifs and coded symbols coalesce around a figure, making his identity and context difficult to define. Realised in the familiar palette of early evening, each print is finished with high gloss varnish and an array of silkscreen details in white and metallic silver ink.

The work lifts its circular composition from the focal point of one of the artist's original canvases, and will be released in tandem with a twin edition – Perfect All Alone Ironic (Orange).
