The Church of Mantic Plants is a series of 20 textile sculptures stitched by hand in Lewis’ Brooklyn studio – each one individually named and entirely unique. “This series is very much rooted in and pulling from the imaginary, but made with commonplace materials.”
The works launch alongside a print edition by Ludovic Nkoth as part of Inner Visions, a collection curated by Larry Ossei-Mensah
