Elke Gleim is a master gilder and owner of the Ehmer frame workshop. She began her training in 1995 at the Wildermann company on Max-Weber-Platz in Munich. She then worked for the Bavarian Palace Administration, for the church painter Neubauer in Bad Endorf, Upper Bavaria, and for the auction house Sotheby's in New York. There she restored antique frames and furniture, which were then auctioned off as part of the auctions. After graduating from master school in 2004, she began working for the Ehmer company. Since 2009 she has been running the company, initially as a partner, and since 2017 she has been the sole owner.
