Makiko Kudo muddles fantasy and nostalgia to create a quiet idyll in Nanohana Ramen.

Based on an original painting, the edition explores Kudo’s signature serene landscapes of contemplative figures and earthy colour palettes. A lone, youthful figure sits in a marshland of wild grasses – their back turned to the viewer as they eat a bowl of noodles.

“I connect what I see and what I feel using imagination and emotions like dreams.”
