Night in Paris - Golden Light

Yoon Hyup captures the magnetism of Paris with a deftly-composed array of lines and dots.

Growing up, Yoon Hyup discovered the soul of global cities through music and skate culture. Comparing his process to playing jazz, he begins by exploring formation and harmonious colours. Once satisfied, he translates his vision to canvas with improvised gestures.

Night in Paris - Golden Light is based upon memories from a pre-pandemic trip. The darkness of lockdown brought a new perspective to the dynamism he experienced. The print’s circular shape evokes a city seen through a peephole – or even an aeroplane window.
