A trio of women luxuriate in a silkscreen print by Parra.

FOUR WALLS captures the hazy aftermath of a party in a contemplative and timeless scene. The guests sprawl over the floor, engaged in conversation that wanders between everything and nothing. Parra captures the feeling of being caught in a late-night moment, where time and place becomes blurred.

A strong dialogue between printmaker and artist allowed an original twist on the reference work to develop. The figures have a delicate gloss achieved by layering solid, seamless colour – overlapping in places to echo Parra’s painting techniques.
