Katharina Grosse translates her explosive spray-painted landscapes into a trio of new limited edition prints.
The editions capture the German artist's signature approach to colour and gesture, encapsulating the immersive scale of her renowned in-situ paintings that have transformed contemporary art spaces from MoMA PS1 to the Venice Biennale. In her painting process, Grosse uses the spray gun to distance the artistic act from the hand, creating what she calls "a screen between producer and spectator". This triptych is a prime example of Grosse's artistic philosophy – its electric, fast-flowing streaks are at once automatic, instinctive and magnetically compelling.
Carefully crafted in collaboration with the artist and our expert printmakers at Make-Ready, this trio of silkscreen prints translates the liquidity and atmospheric depth of Grosse's signature spray-painted technique.
