Katharina Grosse translates her explosive spray-painted landscapes into a new limited edition print.
Part of a triptych of silkscreen editions, Untitled captures the German artist's signature approach to colour and gesture, encapsulating the immersive scale of her renowned in-situ paintings that have transformed contemporary art spaces from Art Basel's Messeplatz to the Arsenale of the Venice Biennale. In her painting process, Grosse uses an industrial spray gun to extend her reach and speed, transforming surfaces and spaces into immersive experiences where the painted image and the real world collide. This work is a prime example of Grosse's artistic philosophy – its electric, fast-flowing streaks are at once automatic, instinctive and magnetically compelling.
This silkscreen print was carefully crafted to translate the liquidity and atmospheric depth of Grosse's trademark spray-painted technique. The edition was made in close collaboration with the artist and printmakers at our specialist fine art print studio, Make-Ready.
