Frame it! Custom Framing opened in August 1993, and is owned and operated by Mark Duckworth of Vancouver, WA. The store is an independently owned and operated business, not a franchise or a chain. Mark’s 30+ years of professional framing and photography experience, along with his gift for creativity and detail, is a great asset to his customers.

Owner Mel Townsend began framing in Washington DC in 1995 where she managed a custom frame shop and gallery for seven years. Returning to her roots in 2002, she moved back to Portland, OR where she began working for Art Media. For ten years she worked for Art Media and she started and managed the framing department. When Art Media was sold to a corporate art supply store, Mel decided it was as good a time as any to open her dream shop. The goal at the heart of Mel's Frame Shop is to keep it small, keep it local and keep it real for the community.

In 1978, Sharlene Weink founded Americana Frame where Starbucks is now. (5 blocks away) She then migrated to where Garden Fever is now. (18 blocks away). After a short stay on Broadway at 34th Ave, she moved into this location. The previous long time tenant is now across the street; Sue, and The Arrangement. Because of one brave woman, we are now celebrating 45 years in the neighborhood. But more importantly, the reason we are still here, and why I bought the business from my boss six years ago, is because of you the customers—who are more like family.

Kaleidoscope Design Factory is an art consultant and manufacturer that combines original thought and technology to create inspiring work for the hospitality, healthcare, commercial, and government markets.
