Ai Weiwei releases a symbolic new print ahead of his major UK exhibition, Button Up!.

In Guardian (Purple), Ai Weiwei depicts himself as a Door God, a traditional Chinese figurine placed at the entrance of the home to protect the people inside. The composition includes recurring motifs from his work, including a dragon, cat, sunflower, life jacket and buttons – the focal point of his upcoming exhibition Button Up! at Factory International.

This 2-colour limited edition silkscreen print features a metallic glitter base layer. It is a fundraiser edition made in support of Factory International.
