The Estate of Lucian Freud

Two seminal works by Lucian Freud become a pair of new limited edition prints from his Estate.

These two portraits trace Lucian Freud’s enduring commitment to painting from life, affirming his belief that truth in painting could only emerge through prolonged, repeated encounters with the living body. Girl in Bed, 1953 portrays Lady Caroline Blackwood with Freud’s signature intensified features, while Reflection with Two Children marks a pivotal moment of experimentation when the artist used mirrors to paint his own image, decorated by portraits of his children.

Created with Lucian Freud Estate at Make-Ready, our London print house, this pair of limited edition prints on 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper faithfully captures the psychological depth of Freud's original oils.

These prints are two of four limited editions celebrating Freud's portraiture from 1953 to 2002.
