A new work by Piet Parra revels in the joy of alone time.

HOME BOUND was painted in 2025 with acrylic on canvas in the artist's signature graphic colour palette and design. The striking composition depicts a woman surrounded by her home comforts with her back turned and hands raised, symbolising her desire to be alone. Piet sees the piece as a “self-portrait but with a stunt double”, having painted it during a period when he was frequently alone while preparing for a solo exhibition.

In this limited edition print of the artwork, Piet’s distinctive visual language becomes a welcome reminder to treat ourselves with care, love and compassion.

This painting is about the slightly taboo part in all of us that wants to stay home, stop all the noise and not participate in what's going on outside.
