DRIFT return with a finely-tuned, high-tech tribute to the natural rhythms that surround us.

Sine references the component parts of monumental installation Amplitude, currently installed in New York City’s Rockefeller Centre. A pair of brass-tipped glass wings are connected by delicate nylon thread to a small motor and gearbox – housed in a white Corian frame illuminated by two LEDs.

From ocean tides to human breath, the edition draws inspiration from the manifold movements of nature. DRIFT co-founders Lonneke Gordijn and Ralph Nauta seek to unite onlookers as they observe the cyclical motion – extolling the profound benefits of a life lived in sync with others.

“The infinity of energy that we see in nature inspires a sense of connectedness and unity. It makes us feel part of a bigger whole.”

Ahead of launch, 10 artworks will be on public display at Fosbury & Sons in Amsterdam between Friday 29 and Sunday 31 July 2022.
