An iconic modernist portrait by Man Ray becomes a new limited edition print, in collaboration with his Estate.
Man Ray created Noire et Blanche in 1926, pairing the elegant profile of his muse Kiki with an African Baule mask in a composition that appeared in Paris Vogue and defined an era. The photograph emerged from the vibrant artistic dialogue of 1920s Paris, from avant-garde fashion illustration to the European fascination with African art. Man Ray, a key figure in Dada and Surrealism, meticulously choreographed this portrait as both a celebration of his muse and a complex artistic metaphor that questioned convention and bridged cultures. The work remains an epoch-defining image of modernist photography.
This limited edition print features a matte varnish seal and bespoke debossed archive stamp, carefully crafted by our expert printmakers at our London fine art print studio, Make-Ready.
