Even though ACK's work is massively varied, one thing is always present – a story.
All of ACK’s work is channelled through a form of divine inspiration. “Sometimes I just get an idea that’s so powerful that it comes from somewhere else, and that’s what I call ‘the Muse’”. In 2022, ACK did a portrait of this celestial power which sold at Christie’s for 107,100 USD. “She doesn’t have a name but she has a face. She’s always been there, whispering things”. This sense of illusion and mystery crops up throughout ACK’s images and videos. He also hides easter eggs in his works for his collectors and he’s created a number of interactive works. For ACK, the possibilities of crypto art are endless – “we’re barely just scratching the surface, and I can’t wait to see where that goes”.
Alpha Centauri Kid, also known as ACK, (he/him) was born 1986 in San Antonio, Texas. He continues to live and work in the city.
ACK is a huge music lover and the first song he ever fell in love with was Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. “A certain melody can bring about a complex work or idea”, he says.
ACK is hugely respected by many of his peers in the NFT space. He has an NFT-star-studded list of collectors from the likes of Gmoney, Punk4156, 6529 and Vincent Van Dough. In 2021, he even did a collaboration with one of his heroes, XCOPY.
