Star-crossed lovers take shelter in a tale of love and fate by Alpha Centauri Kid.

For our second collaboration a.c.k. set out to create a body of work inspired by Romeo and Juliet. In the end, the Muse led him in a different direction. Piano Blossoms emerged – a dreamy ode to music and the Muse with all the romance of a Shakespearean play.

Eventually, the tragic couple found refuge amongst the foliage of Eden. The more defined of the pair is Juliet, who is not only analogous to Biblical Eve, but also to the artist’s Muse. Hovering above her head is the apple that spelled humanity’s banishment from the garden. On her right is a memento mori in the form of a ghostly skull. These omens of tragedy are easily missed amongst the alluring gold flowers that illuminate the print.

The 12k digital artwork was transformed into a physical object by printmakers at Make-Ready in London, who worked closely with a.c.k. to introduce layers of texture to the surface of the print.

Alpha Centauri Kid7 collaborationsAlpha Centauri Kid minted his first artwork on-chain in 2021. Now, he’s a leading artist in the space. This might sound like an overnight success, but a.c.k. has been making art and music since his teens. After record-breaking bidding wars on his Superrare debut, a.c.k. left his government day job (which he’d been in for fourteen years) to take on art full-time. His aesthetic spins in many different directions. Gifs like Dark Red Death have an internet-goth-Renaissance vibe, while you will n̶o̶t̶ surely die could easily be an Abstract Expressionist painting. les femmes glissées has a Cubist style in a nod to Picasso, but The Great Restoration looks like a scene from a sci-fi movie. Even though a.c.k.'s work is massively varied, one thing is always present – a story.
