The Cheshire Cat grins into focus as piano keys spiral down the rabbit hole in a print by Alpha Centauri Kid.

Wonderland is one of two works from Piano Blossoms inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice. In both cases, a.c.k. considers what other mysteries hide behind the looking glass.

Unlike earlier works which introduce glitches to obscure figures, the artwork began as an abstract landscape. a.c.k. then scoured the composition for hidden figures he could unearth by tweaking colours, defining outlines and reordering layers.

The 12k digital artwork was transformed into a physical object by printmakers at Make-Ready in London, who worked closely with a.c.k. to introduce layers of texture and glossy highlights to the surface of the print.
