Takashi Murakami brings his Superflat universe to a new quartet of limited edition prints.
Since the late 1990s, Murakami's eclectic cast of characters and vibrant floral imagery have been at the heart of his Superflat philosophy – a movement defined by its blend of high art and popular culture, traditional Japanese painting and contemporary manga.
This quartet of prints spans the full breadth of that world: from his iconic smiling flowers and endearing panda cubs, to his villain alter ego Tan Tan Bo. Cheerful and unsettling, these works embody Murakami's core belief that joy and pain are not opposites, but instead, two inevitable parts of every human experience.
Proceeds from this release will support the future of the Brooklyn Museum.
