‘Hand-finishing’ refers to artists adding final touches to editions by hand, for example drawing, painting or collaging on top of a print. This process results in a unique series of work, with no two exactly the same. Every artist hand-finishes differently, reflecting their practice — some add meticulous touches of colour or detail, while others dramatically build onto the works. Historically, hand-finishing techniques have been used by artists like Pablo Picasso and Jean-Michel Basquiat.
