Underground Art

Underground Art

Underground art is any artistic expression that exists beyond the conventional boundaries of the mainstream art world.

Today, the term ‘underground art’ is used to depict a subculture of art, such as graffiti art or comic strip art. Starting from the late 1990s, the internet has emerged as a platform for underground art due to its capacity to reach a broad audience without cost and without relying on the backing of the established art institutions.
