Slingshot Requiem (Relief)
Slingshot Requiem captures a moment of respite in the aftermath of adventure — his namesake weapon inverted to become a wishbone and his body, once poised to fight, now wrapped in bandages. The work was inspired by the multimode chaos of the last 18 months, and a widely felt need to take stock and reflect before pushing forwards once again.Carved, polished, and sandblasted from a piece of quarter inch thick steel then heat treated to create a lustrous blue, purple and silver patina, the edition of 54 arrives mounted in a bespoke, white-washed solid maple frame. Developed and produced by Lamina, a new print house established by Brad Keech and James Jean, extensive hand-working and a unique surface finish mean that each relief could easily be considered an original artwork.

Bell Bay
Time stands still in Amanda Baldwin’s azure, moonlit landscape. In Bell Bay, nature is undisturbed by human presence. The scene is constructed in stylised geometric forms, occupying a space between abstraction and figuration – reminiscent of paintings by Cézanne. Depth emerges from overlapping flat layers, inviting the eye back through rows of blue and green foliage to the distant moon. Texture, created using layers of varnish applied to the surface of the print, enhances the illusion of perspective to resemble Baldwin’s original paintings.
Galaxia II
Galaxia II translates the orthogonal language of pioneering Neo-Geo painter Peter Halley into an edition of intricate, low relief prints.4 individual layers are printed using vibrant UV inks and finished with metallic foil details, including a narrow gold border conceived to echo the gilded surround of a medieval altar. Rectangular ‘cells’ connected by circuit board-esque ‘conduits’ nod to the rigid structures which underpin society – and life within it.The innovative technique results from Halley’s close collaboration with world-leading printmaker Lamina Studios. “As an artist, I think of myself as a composer, and the printmaker as the conductor of the orchestra.”
