The Situationist International (SI) was a European organisation composed of avant-garde artists, intellectuals, and political theorists. It existed from 1957 to 1972 and drew intellectual inspiration from libertarian Marxism and early 20th-century avant-garde art movements like Dada and Surrealism. Their aim was to create a modern critique of mid-20th-century advanced capitalism by synthesising various theoretical disciplines.
